Anointing of the Sick

In the revised rite of the Church, this sacrament may be administered to a Catholic prior to a special operation, in the event of serious illness, for anyone who needs the Lord's healing power, or because of the immediate possibility of death.

The sacrament may be received in church, in the home, at the hospital, or wherever circumstances dictate.
Do not wait until the last minute to call a priest. Ideally, the sick person would have a visit with the priest while they are still conscious so they can make a good confession and receive Holy Communion.
