Assisting the Parish Council (PC) of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in their work of fulfilling its mission there are six commissions. These commissions are standing commissions of the PC and each commission represents an aspect of parish life. The commissions are: Liturgical Life, Faith Formation, Social Justice, Engagement, Stewardship, and Education. In addition to being composed of one or two PC representatives, each commission includes interested parishioners, Ministry Leaders, a Pastoral Staff liaison, and a chairperson. The PC representative serves as a vehicle between a commission and the PC, while the staff liaison serves as the Pastor's representative to the commission and the commission's representative to the Pastor.
The Liturgical Life Commission services the parish in the areas of Liturgy and Ecumenism, always striving to protect the integrity of the Liturgy and Worship Environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, discerning parish worship/liturgical/prayer needs, planning and preparing liturgical events and celebrations, fostering an atmosphere of hospitality and harmony in all aspects of its work and updating members with knowledge necessary to function effectively.

The Social Justice Commission exists as a model and resource to enable the entire Parish communion to put the social teaching of the Church into action. The Commission empowers the members of the Parish to fulfill the Church’s mission of love, justice, freedom and peace by communally responding, in an organized way, to societal and individual human needs. Members develop an understanding of the Baptismal call we have to service, and encourage others in the parish to respond to this call.
Parish Council Liaison: Bernie Sammons
The goal of the Education Commission is to provide leadership, direction and unity of purpose in the whole field of Catholic education – formal and informal; in school and out. The Commission fosters communication, cohesiveness, and collaboration among the various educational entities, provides proper consultation before the formulation of parish goals and insures that the parish mission statement and goals guide the ongoing work of each parish educational entity, office or program.
The Faith Formation Commission’s mission is to provide a lifelong intergenerational whole community approach to faith formation that emphasizes parish and home preparation and formation based on events of the liturgical year. This catechetical process aims toward growth in many dimensions of Christian discipleship: knowledge of faith, liturgical life, moral formation, prayer, belonging to community and missionary spirit. It is faithful to Catholic tradition and responsive to the needs and lived experience of people today.
Parish Council Liaison: Marcus Fluty
The Engagement Commission’s mission is to develop parish life through community building and fellowship by offering programs and events to enrich and support the lives of the parishioners of St. Clare of Assisi.
Parish Council Liaison: Michelle Dean
The Stewardship Commission's mission is to promote christian stewardship as a way of life, and how living out our call to discipleship in service to the church and her members provides a living example by which the spirit of evangelization is witnessed.
