Safe Environment / Volunteering

Thank you for volunteering at St. Clare of Assisi Church & School. St. Clare of Assisi Church and School follow the Archdiocese of St. Louis Safe Environment Program, Prevent and Protect STL (P&P).  Formerly known as Protecting God’s Children (PGC), the program is designed to help protect the youth and vulnerable adults of our parish as they participate in activities within our community.  This process also provides a layer of protection against the possibility of false accusations for those adults who are involved in our many ministries.

Adult Volunteers and Employees:

Register with Prevent and Protect STL.  Note Prevent and Protect STL is only for adults.  If you have not yet graduated high school, please scroll down to the "Minor Volunteers Safe Environment Requirements" section.

Adults:

• Complete the Prevent and Protect STL requirements, which are: 

  • Submit information for a Background Check

  • Attend a Protecting God’s Children Workshop. To view a list of upcoming workshops click on the following link:

  • Complete Mandated Reporter online training 

  • Complete Code of Conduct online training

  •  Read and sign the online Code of Conduct

• Coaches  (Additional Requirement)  - Complete the online  training class,  “Coaching to make a Positive Difference”, which can be found at the following link:

Note: All requirements must be met before you can begin practicing with your team.

Minor Volunteers Safe Environment Requirements:

• Read and sign the Minor Code of Conduct. 

• The Minor Code of Conduct must be signed by both the minor volunteer and their parent or legal guardian.  

• Anyone who has not yet graduated from high school is considered a Minor, even if they have already turned 18.

Victims of sexual abuse, in addition to contacting civil authorities, are asked to come forward in order to receive pastoral assistance. Reports of abuse may be made to any Pastor or to:
